The Crazy Energy of Angolan Street Dance: Kuduro, Part 2
Cazenga, is one of the storied neighborhoods of Luanda, Angola. A marginalized community where Kuduro flourishes, and where some of the best dancers live and develop their craft.
Roda da Dança are informal dance circles/meetups that happen in the community where dancers come out to showcase their passion for the dance. At AfroConex we believe strongly that dance, whether urban or traditional, tells our human stories in movements. The raw energy captured here in Cazenga gives us a window into the vibrant culture of Kuduro.
AfroConex is a platform that connects with Angolan and other Afro cultures through dance and music. Capturing and documenting the dance and music of those cultures and supporting the exposure of artists. Our objective is to bring more visibility to the Kuduro/Afro House dance culture of Angola. Giving you an up-close and in-depth view of the dance and the dance artists pushing the culture. At our core we are dance lovers, and therefore will also tell dance stories from across the African continent and Afro diaspora.
